The Kentucky National Guard has been present to help out law enforcement at every Kentucky Derby for the last 75 years. I hope no one thinks this is a unique situation. It happens every year when drunks get on the track.

Normal protocol for events like the Kentucky Derby should be Local Louisville police first ( I’m sure some would enjoy overtime), then State Police (ditto with overtime) and finally National Guard, no?
