Virginia Middle-Schoolers Assigned Opposition Research on GOP Candidates
March 22, 2012
A Virginia middle school teacher recently forced his students to support President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign by conducting opposition research in class against the Republican presidential candidates.
The 8th grade students, who attend Liberty Middle School in Fairfax County, were required to seek out the vulnerabilities of Republican presidential hopefuls and forward them to the Obama campaign.
“This assignment was just creepy beyond belief — like something out of East Germany during the Cold War,” one frustrated father, who asked for his family to remain anonymous, told The Daily Caller.
The assignment was for students to research the backgrounds and positions of each of the GOP candidates for president and find “weaknesses” in them, the parent explained. From there, students were to prepare a strategy paper to exploit those weaknesses and then to send their suggestions to the Obama campaign.
Liberty teacher Mark Denman, who declined to comment, unveiled the assignment in mid-January when he broke the Civics Honor’s class into four groups, one for each Republican candidate. The students were then to collaborate as a group and research the backgrounds of their assigned candidate.
Denman assigned two kids to write a paper revealing the identified “weaknesses,” two to write the attack strategy paper and two others to locate an individual inside the Obama campaign to whom they could send the information.
“My classmates don’t actually know a lot, but a few of us tended to agree that the most recent instruction on this project just didn’t seem right,” one of the students told TheDC. “Mr. Denman didn’t tell us where to find the information, just to research on them.”
As a result, the school received multiple phone calls from parents frustrated with the political nature of the assignment, the father told TheDC.
“I was shocked that a school teacher would so blatantly politicize the curriculum of a middle school classroom,” the parent said. “I asked [my child] if a similar assignment had been handed out to examine the background and positions of President Obama to see if the teacher was at least being bipartisan.”
No similar assignment was given to research Obama’s history, identify his weaknesses or pass them along to the Republican candidates.

‘Capitalism Will Fail,’ Marijuana Leaf Part of California School Mosaic
Symbols of communism and marijuana and a prediction that “capitalism will fail” aren’t exactly the sort of end-of-year messages you’d expect from an eighth grader.
But that’s precisely what some students at the Black Pine Circle School, a private school in Berkeley, Calif., chose to include in their “Class of 2007″ mosaic.
The symbols, which are prominently displayed outside the school, have prompted questions about the appropriateness of images like a hammer and sickle and a marijuana leaf on school grounds — and have led critics to say they are blatant proof of political indoctrination of young children.
Black Pine Circle bills itself as a day school where students from kindergarten through eighth grade will be “maximally free of all the ‘isms’ which pervade most aspects of the world around them: from racism to sexism to the less obvious forms of discrimination,” according to its Web site.
Capitalism, even if it fails, apparently isn’t one of those: Tuition for a 10-month term costs more than $17,000.
Laura Wolff, assistant director and head of BPCS’s Lower School, told FOXNews.com that each graduating student makes a tile to commemorate his or her time there, sometimes teaming up with other students to make a “dual tile.” She said school officials do not edit or otherwise influence the end products.

Indoctrination of Children In Chicago
Beneath a Revolucion flag with the image of Che Guevara, a DJ played music for the kids in the big gymnasium. A hand made poster on the wall behind him said Stop Raid Now Legalization. Despite the bad spelling, the pro-illegal immigrant message was clear.
This was part of a shockingly blatant day of communist indoctrination at a Chicago Public Schools (CPS) facility. Hundreds of Chicago students of all ages were invited into a day-long display of revolutionary communist propaganda at the Social Justice Student Expo in one of Chicagos community colleges on the north side on Thursday, May 20. Presented by Chicago Youth Initiating Change (CYIC), it had the full blessing of CPS.

Army of new Teachers to fight for Social Justice
Secretary of Education Arne Duncan calls for army of new teachers to fight for social justice in the class room.

On Cotober 9, 2009, Arne Duncan gave a speech at the The Rotunda at the University of Virginia.
“Put plain and simple, this country needs an army of great, new teachers…
I believe that education is the civil rights issue of our generation. And if you care about promoting opportunity and reducing inequality, the classroom is the place to start. Great teaching is about so much more than education; it is a daily fight for social justice.”
Social Justice is the Progressives code word for ‘redistribution of wealth’. This is what the Department of Education wants the army of new teachers to fight for in the schools that your children go to. They will surreptitiously indoctrinate children into the mindset of mediocrity and that the ‘rich’ will take care of them by paying extra taxes. The days of teaching a work ethic are over.
The masks are coming off the Progressives. They don’t even try to hide their Marxist agendas any more. Pelosi wants to be reinstated as Speaker of the House (she must dearly miss the power that position has) and as her primary campaign topic, she is going all out for national child care.
If indeed Pelosi achieves her goal and the government does for child care what it did for healthcare, it might look something like this:
A childcare mandate requiring all parents to buy childcare for their children and enter the workplace.
A national electronic database of all parents and their parenting habits, ostensibly to determine and enforce the use of “best practices” for raising children.
Forcing all private-sector child care professionals out of business, creating a single-caregiver government monopoly subjecting impressionable young children to government indoctrination in everything from climate change to illegal immigration and abortion.
1984 comes knocking on our doors and our children are the price of government oversight. Makes you all warm and fuzzy doesn’t it? More likely, it chills you to the bone and there is fear in the pit of your stomach for your family and children. You have to ask yourself, “Once they own your kids, what’s left?”
We, as parents, can thank Jimmy Carter for initiating the Department of Education.
The Marxists/Communists of the Teacher’s Unions condone and promote the above.

WIS. HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS DROWN OUT PRO-UNION PROTESTERS WITH CHANTS OF ‘STAND WITH WALKER
Usually when the media talks about high school kids at the Wisconsin Capitol it’s been about teachers bringing students to protest Wis. Gov. Scott Walker and his budget cuts. But we have some different news to bring you today: during a visit to the Capitol last Thursday, some Wisconsin high school students decided to fight back against the anti-Walker sentiment they were witnessing during an impromptu visit.
In short, students from Sheboygan Lutheran High School decided to stop by the rotunda in Madison while in town for the state high school basketball playoffs. While there, they witnessed protesters signing about unions and solidarity. So they decided to drown them out with pro-walker chants.
The Wisconsin Citizens Media Co-Op has more:
On Thursday March 15, 2012 the afternoon Solidarity Sing Along was taken over by a large group of supporters from Lutheran High School in Sheboygan.
The students, parents and supporters were all in town to participate in the WIAA Boy’s High School Basketball Tournament and arrived at the Capitol for a celebratory rally and to have their photo taken with their legislators. A small group of singers was located on the ground floor of the rotunda for their weekly Thursday afternoon song circle which was quickly drowned out by the thunderous cheers of the LHS group. Shouts of “LHS” and “Stand with Walker” thundered through the rotunda and was met with wide approval from the LHS supporters. One student entered the circle to mock and taunt the singers with dance moves. The extremely loud and boisterous encounter could be heard in the Assembly chambers, where legislative business was still being conducted.
The Solidarity Sing Along remained calm and peaceful throughout the ordeal and eventually moved outside to continue singing while the rotunda erupted in approval. Later on, several visitors from the LHS group were given a standing ovation by some legislators in the Assembly when they were introduced by their legislators.
William A. Jacobson, associate clinical professor at Cornell Law School, notes that some anti-Walker protesters were angered by the students’ move, calling it “hypocrisy.” Jacobson wasn’t having any of that:
Excuse me, did the students take over the State Capitol and refuse to leave, set up camp, damage walls, threaten legislators, crash through police lines, encourage police insurrection, sit down in hallways blocking access, pound on buses carrying legislators, lock their heads to railing, or do any of the other destructive things the anti-Walker protesters did for weeks on end last year? (added) Oh, and did I forget the death threats?
It‘s worth mentioning that from the video we’re not sure if the students broke out into chanting at the prompting of others or if it was organic. But I will say that I’ve been to the Wisconsin state high school basketball playoffs in Madison, and kids chanting is as common as snow in January.
