Reno, NV – Today U.S. Senator Harry Reid’s campaign was forced to take down a website that falsely represented itself as Sharron Angle’s campaign website and attempted to deceive Angle supporters into giving their personal information to the Reid campaign. Reid’s campaign received a Cease and Desist Notice complaining of “nefarious actions,” including the abuses of proprietary materials from the Angle campaign website and for potentially violating the privacy of supporters who may have been submitting personal information to be used for U.S. Senate candidate Sharron Angle’s campaign.
According to a letter from the Angle campaign’s lawyer, “… these activities violate a number of federal statutes regarding the internet and your client has clearly misappropriated my client’s copyrighted materials. In addition it appears that the only interactive function on the fake site is the capturing of names of persons seeking to add their names and email addresses as supporters of Sharron Angle.”
Angle spokesman Jerry Stacy said that Reid’s campaign responded immediately by removing the site. “Make no mistake, the Reid campaign was forced to take this site down because they were breaking several laws and trying to deceive the voters,” Stacy said. “You’re going to see a lot of dirty tricks like that from Reid’s campaign.”

Former Chicago Machine Player Issues Warning to Sharron Angle Campaign

What follows is a non-verbatim account of an interview with Mr. X. His exact language is in quotes. Mr. X was deeply involved in Chicago Machine politics for many years. He has intimate knowledge of those responsible for manipulating the Cook County electoral process toward the outcome intended by the Machine. He eventually went undercover for the FBI and testified in trials that resulted in multiple convictions. He now lives outside Illinois. Mr. X has reason to believe that Nevada GOP Senatorial Candidate Sharron Angle, who is running against Sen. Harry Reid, will face a level of corrupt electioneering practices equal to what he witnessed for many years in Chicago. This is his warning to the Angle Campaign.
The first thing the Angle Campaign has to do is scrub the voter registration list and get the dead people, the people who have moved away from Nevada, and the other fictitious voters off the list.
“There are thousands of them there.”
In the 2008 election, ACORN’s Las Vegas office got raided by the police in early October. Its people were charged with 26 counts of voter fraud and 13 counts for compensating those who were registering voters; they’re felony charges. In August 2009, a Nevada director for ACORN pled guilty to conspiracy to compensate workers for registering of voters.
Just because ACORN was busted in Las Vegas doesn’t mean that voter fraud is over there. In fact it’s the opposite. To think otherwise is “crazy.”
“And I’m sure there are plenty of groups out there who will take money to register phony voters.”
Angle’s supporters have to find the phony names on the voter registration list. There’ll be thousands of them, many of whom will be voting by absentee ballot.
“In Chicago in every election there are many absentee ballots and a lot of them are sent in by Precinct Captains, or by someone associated with the campaign.”
Next, on Election Day, the Angle Campaign will need an army of trained poll watchers.
“In Chicago, the Precinct Captains watch to see who votes and who doesn’t. Then, at the end of the day, others will cast votes for those who haven’t shown up to vote, all under the direction of the Precinct Captain. If the actual voter shows up later, they’re given someone else’s card. The Republican poll watchers don’t stop this. Hell, most of them are actually Democrats.”

The Nevada appearance was billed as focusing on the economy but turned into an extended campaign plug for Reid, seen as one of nation’s most vulnerable incumbents in the November elections. Reid introduced Obama and then sat behind him, basking in each applause line.
Obama wrapped his arms around Reid at the start of the event and embraced his work throughout. The president rarely missed a chance – on the economic stimulus plan, on health care, on the effort to regulate big banks – to put himself and Reid in the same sentence.
