Then let’s see if you report the TRUTH.
ANN ROMNEY DIDN’T SAY ‘YOU PEOPLE’–BUT YOU KNOW WHO DID?

July 20, 2012
In an effort to portray the Romneys as out of touch and ding them on Mitt Romney’s refusal to meet MSM/DNC demands, progressives fabricated a “gaffe” and attributed it to Ann Romney.
Mrs. Romney was speaking with ABC and was asked about her husband’s tax returns.
“There are so many things that will be open again for more attack,” Ann Romney told ABC’s Robin Roberts on “Good Morning America” when asked about releasing tax returns. “And you just want to give more material for more attack. And that’s really — that’s just the answer.”She added, “And we’ve given all our people need to know and understand about our financial situation and about how — you know, how we live our life.”
Was it – “And we’ve given all people need to know and understand about our financial situation and about how — you know, how we live our life.”Or was it – “And we’ve given all you people need to know and understand about our financial situation and about how — you know, how we live our life.”
Our ruling after reviewing the original audio is that she did not include the “you.”
For the sake of the argument, saying “you people” is just like spearing a program that killed 300 Mexican citizens and two border agents. Saying “you people” is just like enforcing a dangerous policy of political correctness that resulted in the deaths of 14 people and 32 injuries.
The left hears dog whistles in everything from “food stamps” to “Obamacare” (despite the president himself using it to fundraise and in speeches). They wanted to be offended so badly that they made up a quote and attributed it to Ann Romney. There is power in claiming victimhood, even if no transgression was ever committed. This was an attempt to siphon off a bit of Romney’s lead in the latest left-leaning CBS/NYT poll.
The crazy thing is that while Ann Romney never said “you people,” do you know who did? Barack Obama.
“It shouldn’t be a Democrat/Republican issue,” Obama said. “America is not just about you people doing well. America is about everybody doing well.”
