Wow! The Global Socialists/Marxists have been proven wrong about Global Warming.
Now to refresh and renew their push for Global Warming Taxation to spread the wealth around the globe; their next culprit is……..EARTHWORMS!
YOU WILL NEVER GUESS THE LATEST GLOBAL WARMING VILLAIN: EARTHWORMS

A recent study published in Nature Climate Change claims that earthworms may be contributing to global warming. The invertebrates join the ranks of humans, cows and dinosaurs as creatures said to have contributed to the planet’s destruction.
The U.K. Guardian has more on the study conducted by researchers from the Netherlands, the United States, and Colombia:
The presence of worms affects how much carbon dioxide is produced in the soil and how much escapes to the atmosphere. Scientists are concerned that earthworms increase greenhouse gas emissions – and that earthworm numbers are on the rise.
Nitrous oxide is another powerful greenhouse gas. Bacteria in the earthworms’ gut produce nitrous oxide and emissions from worm-infested soil can be three times as high as from soil without any worms, the paper says.
For a while, scientists have faced a problem. They know earthworms can increase emissions from soil. But worms can also help the soil store carbon more efficiently, permanently locking it away.
For a while it was unclear whether worms increase or decrease the total carbon emissions from soil – what scientists rather affectionately called the earthworm dilemma.
The scientists in the new study combined all the results they could find to study this question. Overall, they found that the presence of earthworms in soil increased nitrous oxide emissions by 42 per cent and carbon dioxide emissions by 33 per cent. [Emphasis added]
“Over the next few decades, earthworm presence is likely to increase in ecosystems worldwide,” the researchers inform. “For example, large parts of North American forest soils are now being invaded by earthworms for the first time since the last glaciation.”
The worm population is apparently flourishing for a number of reasons, one of which is the switch to more organic fertilizers.
But Ingrid Lubbers from Wageningen University said they still need more time to determine “to what extent global worming leads to global warming.”
The paper concludes with the acknowledgement that earthworms are “largely beneficial to soil fertility,” but “increase net soil greenhouse-gas emissions.”

How do earthworms influence soil fertility?
The accidental introduction of earthworms to North America may have been the best outcome of contact between the early settlers and native peoples. While the Indians suffered from lack of exposure and immunity to European diseases, the fertility of many North American soils was greatly enhanced through the recycling of organic matter by earthworms.
The activity of earthworms is most easily appreciated by comparison with the situation in regions where they are absent: the decomposition of organic matter there is slow, such that layers of litter accumulate on the soil surface and fail to be incorporated into the soil. More specifically, the activity of earthworms is important to the agriculturist in four respects, in that they:
- improve soil structure
- mix and till the soil
- aid in humus formation
- increase the availability of plant nutrients
The burrowing of earthworms improves the physical structure of the soil, creating channels through which plant roots may more easily penetrate the soil. In addition to increasing soil porosity and aeration, this activity also improves soil drainage and water penetration while eliminating hardpan conditions. Earthworms may also enhance soil structure through the formation of aggregates. Secretions in earthworm intestines cement soil particles together into aggregates which aid in erosion control. Man, through agricultural practices, such as cultivation, may temporarily improve soil structure, but the earthworm has longer-term effects in maintaining soil tilth.
As earthworms burrow through the earth, they consume large quantities of soil and fresh or partially decomposed organic matter from the soil surface, depositing it as fecal matter, or casts, in the lower soil horizons. Similarly, soil from the subsoil horizon is moved by these animals to the upper levels where it is mixed with the surface soil, resulting in a more uniform distribution of plant nutrients. Charles Darwin (1881), the naturalist famous for his ideas on evolution, estimated that 10.6 tons of materials are brought to the soil surface of each acre by earthworms (or approximately St/hectare).
Through the ingestion of organic matter earthworms are important to the initial breakdown as well as to subsequent decomposition of organic matter. In fact, earthworms may consume more surface organic matter than all other soil animals together. This material is eventually excreted as casts, concentrating nutrients and rendering them more water-soluble and available to plants. Researchers have found that worm casts are generally richer in exchangeable calcium, potassium, and phosphorus than the surrounding soil, while earthworms themselves and their excretions are valuable sources of nitrogen. By bringing soil nutrients to the upper horizons from the lower subsoil, the earthworms counteract the effects of leaching whereby many nutrients are washed from the root zone and consequently rendered unavailable to plants.
What are other uses of earthworms?
Earthworms are familiar to the fisherman and poultry producer as bait or animal feed, but few North Americans realize that earthworms are regarded as a source of dietary protein, even a delicacy, by other cultures. However, popularized by events such as the Great Canadian Worm Recipe Contest, these animals may eventually worm their way into North American kitchens in the form of Mrs. Wiebe’s Wiggly Cake (Waldon 1978). Earthworms have also been used for medicinal purposes since ancient times in the treatment of illnesses such as bladder stones, jaundice, rheumatism, fever and impotency. Their efficiency, however, requires proper scientific investigation!
Vermiculture, the art of breeding and raising earthworms, is a billion dollar enterprise, supplying eager fishermen, zoos, fish hatcheries, poultry producers, and biology classrooms. The production of earthworms requires large amounts of organic matter with which to feed them. Consequently, vermiculture could be easily integrated with industries such as canneries, breweries, slaughterhouses, and papermills where large quantities of organic waste are produced. Rabbit breeders have found that earthworms placed under hutches are very effective in controlling odours from animal droppings and provide extra income if the earthworms are sold. Similarly, many of our urban wastes could be recycled through earthworms, solving many of our current problems in respect of solid waste disposal and water pollution.
I’ll bet you think that the earthworm is only good for fishbait. Well, think again. The earthworm is one of nature’s top “soil scientists.” The earthworm is responsible for a lot of the things that help make our soil good enough to grow healthy plants and provide us food.Worms help to increase the amount of air and water that gets into the soil. They break down organic matter, like leaves and grass into things that plants can use. When they eat, they leave behind castings that are a very valuable type of fertilizer.Earthworms are like free farm help. They help to “turn” the soil—bringing down organic matter from the top and mixing it with the soil below. Another interesting job that the worm has is that of making fertilizer. If there are 500,000 worms living in an acre of soil, they could make 50 tons of castings. That’s like lining up 100,000 one pound coffee cans filled with castings. These same 500,000 worms burrowing into an acre of soil can create a drainage system equal to 2,000 feet of 6-inch pipe. Pretty amazing for just a little old worm, don’t you think?Having worms around in your garden is a real good sign that you have a healthy soil.
Present and future conditions
As mentioned above, at present, perihelion occurs during the southern hemisphere’s summer and aphelion during the southern winter. Thus the southern hemisphere seasons should tend to be somewhat more extreme than the northern hemisphere seasons. The relatively low eccentricity of the present orbit results in a 6.8% difference in the amount of solar radiation during summer in the two hemispheres.
Since orbital variations are predictable, if one has a model that relates orbital variations to climate, it is possible to run such a model forward to “predict” future climate. Two caveats are necessary: that anthropogenic effects may modify or even overwhelm orbital effects; and that the mechanism by which orbital forcing influences climate is not well understood.
The amount of solar radiation (insolation) in the Northern Hemisphere at 65° N seems to be related to occurrence of an ice age. Astronomical calculations show that 65° N summer insolation should increase gradually over the next 25,000 years. A regime of eccentricity lower than the current value will last for about the next 100,000 years. Changes in northern hemisphere summer insolation will be dominated by changes in obliquity ε. No declines in 65° N summer insolation, sufficient to cause a glacial period, are expected in the next 50,000 years.
An often-cited 1980 study by Imbrie and Imbrie determined that, “Ignoring anthropogenic and other possible sources of variation acting at frequencies higher than one cycle per 19,000 years, this model predicts that the long-term cooling trend that began some 6,000 years ago will continue for the next 23,000 years.”
Yet, the UN Globalists/Marxists/Socialists will grab at anything to try to blame everything on global warming. They claim they are intellectuals about this. Intellectuals?
Or ones using the Dialectic Process
● Georg Hegel (1770 – 1831), an occultist, laid the foundation for Communist brainwashing. Today, his compromising philosophy and transformational process are changing churches as well as politics, education, business and communities.
● Karl Marx (1818 – 1883) adapted Hegel’s philosophy to his vision of a Communist/socialist world system. (See From Marx to Lenin, Gramsci & Alinsky)
● Like Marx, Lenin and Stalin saw Hegelian dialectic process as an essential tool for managing the masses. Through their hierarchical system of soviets (groups led by trained facilitators who led the group dialogue toward a prescribed and evolving consensus). Everyone had to trade individual thinking for collective thinking and communal values. The vision of “common good” was simply the carrot that justified total and cruel control. (See When Iron Gates Yield).
● The United Nations (1995) has promoted the dialectic process around the world. Like the mythical Phoenix rising out of its ashes, the UN emerged from the fiery devastation of World War II as a beacon of light to utopian humanists and their hopeful followers. Within two years after Communist leader Alger Hiss presided over its birth, some of its most powerful agencies had been established.
● UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) would be led by Julian Huxley — brother of Aldous and a Fabian Socialist. He made the dialectic process the heart of UNESCO’s global education plan. In his 1947 book,UNESCO: Its purpose and Its Philosophy, he wrote:
“The task before UNESCO… is to help the emergence of a single world culture. ….at the moment, two opposing philosophies of life confront each other from the West and from the East…. You may categorize the two philosophies as two super-nationalisms, or as individualism versus collectivism…. or as capitalism versus communism, or as Christianity versus Marxism. Can these opposites be reconciled, this antithesis be resolved in a higher synthesis? …through the inexorable dialectic of evolution, it must happen….
“In pursuing this aim, we must eschew [shun] dogma – whether it be theological dogma or Marxist dogma…. East and West will not agree on a basis of the future if they merely hurl at each other the fixed ideas of the past. For that is what dogma’s are — the crystallizations of some dominant system of thought …. If we are to achieve progress, we must learn to uncrystalize our dogmas.”
