Many people think Barack Obama is a Narcissist.

Could Obama’s possible Narcissism be interlaced with a Machiavellian style love affair with his ideology?

The main theme of this short book is that all means may be resorted to for the establishment and preservation of authority — the end justifies the means (italics added)– and that the worst and most treacherous acts of the ruler are justified by the wickedness and treachery of the governed. Hmm…WHERE have we heard or seen the words….”the end justifies the means”? Ahhh…yes, in “Rules for Radicals” by Saul Alinsky.

According to the Oxford English Dictionary, Machiavellianism is “the employment of cunning and duplicity in statecraft or general conduct,” it of course getting its derivation from the Italian diplomat, writer and philosopher Niccolo Machiavelli. In modern psychological parlance, it refers to a duplicitous interpersonal style couple with a pragmatic and narcissistic moral framework.

Some have incorrectly assumed that given their ability to manipulate the crap out of just about anybody, Machiavellian leaders have a relatively high level of intelligence. In fact, many Machiavellian leaders themselves believe this. Not only does research show this isn’t the case at all in regards to IQ, it also shows that folks with more Machiavellian tendencies seem to have lower levels of EQ (emotional intelligence) as well.

Short version of the above: These guys aren’t as smart as they think they are, and probably aren’t as smart as you think they are. Also, they may suck at certain people skills.

This looks like a mixture of Narcissism and Antisocials. Now lets take a look at some of the 48 laws.

Law 3

Conceal your Intentions

Keep people off-balance and in the dark by never revealing the purpose behind your actions. If they have no clue what you are up to, they cannot prepare a defense. Guide them far enough down the wrong path, envelope them in enough smoke, and by the time they realize your intentions, it will be too late.

Law 7

Get others to do the Work for you, but Always Take the Credit

Use the wisdom, knowledge, and legwork of other people to further your own cause. Not only will such assistance save you valuable time and energy, it will give you a godlike aura of efficiency and speed. In the end your helpers will be forgotten and you will be remembered. Never do yourself what others can do for you.

Four years after Barack Obama’s historic election as president, little seems to have changed for the African-American communities on Chicago’s South Side.

The lack of change — or the sense that these neighborhoods are getting worse — is eroding the president’s standing among African-Americans in his hometown.

In 2011, Chicago suffered the third-highest black jobless rate among the nation’s major metropolitan areas, at 19 percent, according to the liberal Economic Policy Institute.

Chicago still lacks enough affordable housing. Not only did the city demolish 25,000 public housing units in the previous decade, it also experienced more than 80,000 foreclosures, mainly in low-income neighborhoods.

Chicago “black nationalist” Eddie Read contends Obama has never fought for the black community. “I would not honestly tag Obama as a fighter for black people, black agenda or black issues,” Read told The Washington Examiner.

After Obama’s election, Read said, “I hoped that it would change.”

But four years later, as he looks around Chicago’s neighborhoods, he said things haven’t improved under Obama.

“I don’t see where the quality of life or the quality has changed,” he said, “except that it’s worse.”

Dr. Conrad Worrill is an African-American educator, activist and former radio talk show host on Chicago’s African-American-oriented station WVON. He told the Examiner that Obama was an inspirational speaker who moved people. But in the end, he became just another Chicago politician.

“His rise in politics, his trajectory in politics has led him to make adjustments in his political decision-making. And that’s the case with many politicians. So he’s no different from many others in that regard. He’s a politician,” Worrill said.

Cheryl Johnson and her mother, Hazel, lived in the economically deprived Altgeld Gardens housing project when young Obama was a community organizer there. Her late mother also was an organizer at the housing complex and often welcomed Obama into her kitchen.

“He’s everybody’s president,” Cheryl Johnson told the Examiner, saying she is proud she knows him. But has he made a difference? “We, as poor people, don’t feel it and don’t see it,” she said. Read believes Obama’s problem is that he does not understand the unique needs of Chicago blacks.

“Obama came through Chicago through Saul Alinsky organizing,” he said. “The Alinsky piece seemed to have had an agenda about what it thought was in the best interest of black folks, from the white liberal perspective.”

Obama instead allied himself with Chicago’s MacArthur Foundation, local housing nonprofits and real estate developers. Valerie Jarrett and Allison Davis, Martin Nesbitt and Tony Rezko — all Obama friends — were at the epicenter of that powerful coalition.

Obama’s low-income-housing campaign still resonates among Chicago’s poor today. Deborah Taylor, a public housing tenant in the Kenwood section of Chicago, also told the Examiner things are as bad as ever for poor tenants.

“The residents at the end of the day still suffer here,” she said. “A lot of times a lot of people start out idealistically thinking they are helping,” Taylor said.

“I don’t think any of them are in favor of the tenants,” she said. “Everybody’s in it for the money. It’s all about profit now. So the residents lose, lose, lose.”

D’Anna Carter, a neighborhood activist in Chicago’s Woodlawn section, singled out the Habitat Co., which was run by Jarrett, now Obama’s closest White House adviser.

“They were never interested in poor people,” she told the Examiner. “They would sell poor people a bill of goods,” she said bitterly in an interview.

Very quietly, Obama’s chief financier, Penny Pritzker, has entered the Hawaii housing market to buy a retirement home for the president and his family that will be available not in 2016, but in January 2013, according to a confidential source within Pritzker’s Chicago organization

Pritzker, a wealthy Chicago business executive and heiress to the Hyatt Hotels fortune, served as national finance chairman for Obama’s 2008 campaign and is the co-chairman of his 2012 effort.

The source told WND that highly confidential internal polls conducted by the Obama campaign indicate Obama cannot win re-election, despite public surveys that show him in the lead.

“The public polls are mostly political,” the source argued. “Obama radicals want Romney supporters to feel discouraged and give up. Truth is that Romney’s winning.”

The source further told WND that Pritzker is experiencing frustration in her fundraising efforts, as wealthy donors who contributed generously to Obama in 2008 are not even returning her phone calls.

The source said Pritzker is “reminding everyone how generous to their supporters the Clintons were when they left office.”

“Everything is for sale. Ambassadorships, government grants, stimulus money – you name it,” the source told WND.

“There’s nearly three months between the Nov. 6 election and the Jan. 20 inauguration – plenty of time to hand out goodies to friends from the Oval Office.”

Pritzker is telling potential donors that the Obamas have no intention of returning to Chicago when they leave the White House, according to the source.

She is also raising money for the Obama presidential library and museum, which also are slated for Hawaii.

Pritzker’s search for a developed property, suitable for occupancy four months from now, instead of property where a custom-designed estate might be built, is further indication that insiders believe Obama will not be re-elected.

Kevin DuJan, founder and editor of HillBuzz.org, first reported Pritzker was acting as a proxy to purchase a $35 million oceanfront estate in Kailua, the “Beverly Hills of Hawaii,” on the northeast shore of the island of Oahu.

DuJan reported billionaire Pritzker herself may contribute up to half the $35 million purchase price of the future Obama residence.

Hawaii Five-O

The property that appears to fit the description is an estate seen in a recent episode of the popular television show “Hawaii Five-O.”

As featured recently in Honolulu Magazine, the property consists of a main residence and a guest home located on 1.5 acres in an area called “Beachfront,” just before the Lanikai neighborhood in Kailua on Oahu’s Windward Coast.

Jeff Kerr of Kerr Michaels Design told Honolulu Magazine he designed the estate to replicate properties constructed in Hawaii in the early 1900s.

The interior of the house is 8,419 square feet, with another 5,359 square feet of lanai area. The main house has five bedrooms, five baths, two powder rooms, a professional media room and a cabana adjacent to the pool and spa.

A panoramic tour of the world-class, beachfront property can be taken on the Internet, allowing the viewer to “walk through” the home and see its expansive views of the Pacific Ocean.

Signals Obama will leave Chicago behind

In recent months, various members of the Obama family have been indicating that the family does not intend to return to Chicago when the Obama presidency ends.

On Sept. 14, the Weekly Standard reported Michelle Obama was asked by a school child during a visit to a Virginia YMCA where the Obamas would live if President Obama loses.

The first lady said the family would figure that out later, according to the pool report.

In an interview with USA Today in May, Michelle Obama de-emphasized the importance of returning to Chicago.

“So this is home in many ways,” she said, speaking about Chicago. “I mean, we have a house that has stuff in it back in Chicago. We have friends that we love who we invite here all the time.

“But the truth is,” she said, “is that if you plucked us up and put us anywhere right now, what we’d know with this change is that we’re always a family when we’re together. And in the end, that’s what really matters.”

Ben Shapiro says that during the 2008 campaign, Hillary Clinton suggested that if the emergency phone rang at 3 a.m. in the White House, you wouldn’t want Obama picking it up.

She was wrong.  Obama wouldn’t pick it up in the first place.  He’d let it go to answering machine.  He’d be too busy chasing the nearest camera.  Obama is the “Girls Gone Wild” president: Stick a lens in front of him and he’ll take off his shirt, mince about like a coed, and babble nonsensical nothings to an audience oddly fascinated by his antics.

How else to explain Obama’s desperate injection of himself into the Oscars this past Sunday? Even as the Middle East goes up in flames, even as oil prices spike dramatically, even as the national debt skyrockets toward $19.6 trillion by 2015, Obama took time out to tackle a pressing question: What is his favorite movie song?  Answer: “As Time Goes By,” from “Casablanca.”  Feeling better about the world situation yet?

Obama had a busy week — at least in terms of pop culture.  Thursday evening, Obama held yet another party at the White House, this time in honor of Motown music.  Celebrity attendees included Stevie Wonder, Jamie Foxx, Smoky Robinson, John Legend, Seal, Sheryl Crow, Nick Jonas and Jordin Sparks.  Jamie Foxx summed up the Obamas’ view of what it means to inhabit the “people’s house” in his rendition of Robinson’s “Get Ready”: “We won the election.  White House, baby, so much fun!”  Meanwhile, Muammar Qadafi shot people at will in the streets of Tripoli, and Americans struggled to pay their rent.

Obama has become the Salahis of entertainment, cropping up in random places when he’s least wanted.  We can’t escape him.  He delayed the fifth game of the 2008 World Series, so he could broadcast a 30-minute infomercial for his campaign.  He threw out the first pitch at the Major League Baseball All-Star Game in 2009.  He did a 10-minute interview with Katie Couric during the 2010 Super Bowl broadcast.  In both 2009 and 2010, he did interviews with ESPN to tell the world about his NCAA tournament brackets.  In 2010, Obama showed up on “American Idol.”  As commander-in-chief, he’s hit “The View,” “The Tonight Show,” “The Late Show” and “Jersey Shore.”  OK, he hasn’t hit “Jersey Shore” … yet.

In fact, Obama is worse than the Salahis — at least the Salahis don’t use tax dollars to subsidize their antics.  Obama doesn’t just crash other parties — he spends millions of taxpayer dollars to throw parties of his own.  Not that Obama cares; as he put it, “This is a pretty big house so we get lonely.  It’s hard for me to move around out there sometimes, so I got to bring the world to me.”

Obama’s desperate need for attention is clearly a psychological condition.  He drinks in applause like a washed-up movie star.   It is usual for neglected children to develop narcissistic personality disorder (NPD), typically characterized by an inflated sense of self-importance, a strong sense of entitlement, preoccupations with utopian fantasies, elitism, manipulative tendencies and pathological need for praise.

Obama was abandoned by his parents during childhood.  Now he exhibits the textbook symptoms of NPD.  He thinks his powers are godlike in import; “I have a gift, Harry,” Obama once told Sen. Harry Reid.  He believes he is entitled to positions of power and prestige.  He has never worked a real job in his life, yet deigns to tell the rest of us that he embodies our hopes and dreams. He is obsessed with nonsensical utopian fantasies of one-world peace and harmony in which nuclear weapons are beaten into plowshares.

Obama is an elitist through and through, disdaining ordinary Americans as “bitter [people who] cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them.”  He is manipulative in the extreme, seeing every crisis as an opportunity to magnify his personal power.

Most dangerous, he requires a constant stream of paeans to his persona.  Radical Muslims, socialists, anti-Semites — so long as they clap, they’re worthy of his warmth.  Obama strongly resembles a once-abused puppy; he doesn’t care who pets him, so long as he receives the petting.

With one exception: Obama has no interest in the attention or praise of Americans who challenge his radical agenda. To make himself subject to their philosophy would force him to acknowledge a fundamental truth: His parents abandoned him because they were bad parents, not because America is a “downright mean” country.  Obama has told himself for decades that America’s selfishness forced his parents to make him a social outcast.  To acknowledge now that the system was largely good and his parents were largely bad would fracture his fragile ego.

So expect to see Obama on the next telecast of the next big event.  He can’t stay away from the cameras, and he certainly won’t leave behind the enthusiastic hurrahs of his supporters.

Unfortunately for Mr. Shapiro, on November 29, 2010, the American Psychological Association (APA), cancelled Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD).  Obama can’t be tagged with a personality disorder.  It wouldn’t be politically correct.  So the APA simply remove NPD from the list.  Problem solved.  Long live Caesar!

(CNSNews.com) – Federal contractors receiving money for projects funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA)—the $862 billion economic stimulus law President Barack Obama signed in February 2009—have been encouraged and, in some cases, required by the administration to post signs that say their work is funded by that specific act.

Some congressional Republicans are calling the signs propaganda for the administration and questioning their cost.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development recommended one model sign that included these words: “Funded By: American Recovery and Reinvestment Act/ Barack Obama, President.”

The law itself does not require the signs. The program sprung from a March 2009 directive issued by the Office of Management and Budget in the Obama White House.

“Projects funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) will bear a newly-designed emblem,” said the OMB directive. “The emblem is a symbol of President Obama’s commitment to the American People to invest their tax dollars wisely to put Americans back to work.”

“All projects which are funded by the ARRA should display signage that features the Primary Emblem throughout the construction phase,” said the directive. “The signage should be displayed in a prominent location on site. Some exclusions may apply. The Primary Emblem can also be displayed on signs at events or conferences associated with the ARRA or the individual projects funded by the ARRA. The Primary Emblem should not be displayed at a size less than 6 inches in diameter.”

As regards defining personality traits, Barack Obama’s chief attribute will undoubtedly go down as pathological narcissism. But it also doesn’t help his cause that he has a glass chin the size of Beijing’s Bird’s Nest Stadium. Barack simply can’t take criticism in any constructive fashion. But why is that? Fundamentally, despite his Ivy League pedigree, it seems Obama sprouted to maturity without any of the normal struggles, ordeals, obstacles or setbacks against progress that normally aid in the development of character, depth, maturity and wisdom.

Like the greenhouse-raised petunia, upon entering a real-world environment, with all the inclement weather, scorching sun and other unpredictable elements—the light and heat went straight to his head and he degenerated from a prosperous seedling to a stunted and shocked vegetative state. And now he’s even developed drooping popularity. Poor Barack!!

Now, consider: Before assuming the US presidency, Obama was protected like the elusive unicorn; or a fragrant holy cow; or King Arthur’s magic albino stag; or some other insufferably coddled sacred beast. For example, when running for his first Illinois state senate election, all Barack’s opponents were conveniently driven off the ballot by individual lawsuits, one-by-one. And when it finally came to his US Senate race, his opponent, Jack Ryan, watched as his legally sealed divorce records, with their damaging personal information, were exposed like an anonymous tip dialed into the IRS on April 14th. Ryan, too, dropped out. Even for a neophyte, it’s a bit hard to lose a race with only one candidate running! (apologies to Alan Keyes).

So, instead of being buffeted by life’s vagaries, and experiencing all the setbacks associated with coming up tough in a hard world, Barack was kowtowed to like the next black-velvet Elvis. And how sad for all the rest of us who have to absorb his endless pontificating lectures, stern Stalin-esque rebukes, bloviated teleprompting speeches, and holier-than-Mao homilies! And yet, the same Obama who believes himself a bona fide World Spirit didn’t even have the moxies to plot a “Plan B”, just in case his initial imperial presidential plans were booted to the curb. Talk about a rank amateur!

It doesn’t help, of course, when you are the lex animata, ie the living lawgiver, of your cause. Obama is nothing less than the organic embodiment of his movement’s message, and everything he says is trenchant and terribly important. He’s like a postmodern Shakespeare holding court at, say—the local union hall or welfare office. This was wonderful, until screwups surfaced that even the Lame-Brained Media had to report on it. His advisers should have realized offering up Barack as the next paper mache Moses was not a good career move. There is nowhere to head but down from the mountaintop experience, while toting the Styrofoam “change mandate” tablets.

But the problem is much deeper than this. In essence, Obama’s struggle is he’s been shielded, protected, and treated like a prodigy for so long, he’s never had the opportunity to develop like a normal person. For example, how many reporters and networks chose to look the other way, whistling – when all of BO’s ultra-leftist, socialist, and communist pals came to light? Who else could have a BMF (Best Male Friend) who actually bombed US Government buildings, but never apologized or repented, yet still have the matter treated like a 2nd grade food-fight at Camp Lenin?!!

Actually, a “prodigy” in ancient Rome was not what we think of today – a wonderful young personality or incipient genius. Instead, their version was known as prodigium, meaning a “portent / monster, unnatural thing.” A freak whose sudden appearance meant the gods were furious. Doesn’t this intriguing contrast splendidly cover the gamut of the the current Obama v. USA conundrum? Acclaimed a young miracle worker of a politician who would overtake the modern world like a Caesar Augustus on a crack binge; instead, he turns out to be a terrifying monstrosity – a technology addicted, talking-point belching, socialist abomination—in a red spandex suit, candy apply cape, and Karl Marx mask with lettered back, reading “C-H-A-N-G-E!”

America’s Crash Course In Narcissism

Joy Tiz says the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM IV-TR) is the diagnostic manual used by mental health professionals.  A diagnosis of narcissism requires five out of nine characteristics.  Note these traits must endure overtime and must not be reactions to a particular situation or environmental stressor:
  

1.  Grandiose sense of self-importance.
2.  Preoccupation with fantasies of unlimited success, power, beauty, or ideal love.
3.  Sense of specialness, belief he can only be understood by or should associate only with other special or high-status individuals or institutions.
4.  Need for excessive admiration.
5.  Heightened sense of entitlement, leading to unreasonable expectations that others should treat him especially favorably or comply automatically with his expectations.
6.  Tendency to be interpersonally exploitive. A person with NPD does not hesitate in taking advantage of others to meet his own ends.
7.  Lack of empathy, an inability or unwillingness to recognize or identify with the feelings or needs of others.
8.  An envy of other people, or conversely, a belief that other people envy him.
9.  A tendency toward arrogant behavior or attitude.

     
In his essay on Obama’s narcissism, Sam Vaknin references Obama’s haughty body language and condescending attitude.  Vaknin also points out Obama’s “emotion free language.”  Commentators frequently describe Obama as cool and aloof.

Some narcissists learn to mimic normal human emotions.  Clinton is the master of this; he claimed to feel our pain, and plenty of Americans believed him.  Clinton learned how to win people over with his pseudo empathy.  Obama has yet to demonstrate anything we could call true empathy; irrespective of the words he uses, there is no real emotional content.

When children experience overwhelming trauma, they protect themselves as best they can with a variety of defense mechanisms.  There is no question that life for little Barry was traumatic, full of chaos and abandonment, as well as genuine fear.  The adults in his life betrayed him and taught him hate and mistrust.  Otto Kernberg, in his research on narcissism, states that it evolves as a defense against a cold and unsympathetic parent.  The child withdraws part of himself from the unavailable parent and turns it back toward himself, creating a grandiose sense of self.  Healthy emotional development was just not possible in young Barry’s environment.
 
If five out of nine indicates narcissism, what does nine out of nine indicate?
