A radical activist from the 60’s that continues her activism today.

These are only two activists connected to ONE of the above listed organizations.

Could this be an ACORN umbrella coalition working out of K Street in Washington, D.C.?

Do donations to these organizations end up at the Elyssian Ave. address that is a money gathering point in New Orleans for ACORN/SEIU local 100?

Will the FBI, the IRS even investigate ACORN?

Will the FBI and the IRS do an investigation of this address and the multitude of organizations operating out of Suite #210?

  4. The reason so many outfits are in one address is because those are mostly low dollar groups. Go find an office in that town – Real estate is expensive in DC.

When you visit Washington DC you see a lot of lobbyists. The number of lobbyists doubled between 2000 and 2006 according to the Washington Post and reports by the groups who register lobbyists. The vast majority of those lobbyists are connected with business. There are big dollars in rolling back government regulations. Maybe the regulations were a stupid head-ache, or maybe the regulation helps keep your child alive. No matter, some corporation can make a lot of money tweaking a rule, or catching a contract. Spend $10 million, earn $10 billion.

As to whether or not people who write to Congress in favor of Healthcare Reform is fake, it isn’t “astro-turf”. There may be divide in the US about healthcare, but the numbers in favor of healthcare reform, in some form, remain a majority in our country. And, without much cajoling they even show up for demonstrations and write lots of letters.

Why do the people who profess their open hatred for Obama insist on protecting private insurance companies who gouge us all? It is a mystery to me why anyone would trust a private, profit motive company, where there is no recourse, over a publicly administered group, to pay for personally selected doctors, where we at least have nominal control, is a mystery to me. Especially when it could be 30% cheaper.

Have you never had a problem with your HMO? If not, then you’re an unusually lucky person. Worried about socialized medicine? Visit England and get hurt. They’ll fix you up in a jiffy – with less staff because they don’t have people running around printing and xeroxing insurance forms, and picking up your co-pay.

And, as to people who hate Obama…it looks pretty nutty. Hate isn’t a very convincing argument. Rush and Glenn use hate because it sells ad. But it does a much less thorough job of solving problems.

    1. K Street needs to be abolished. Our government needs to get back to “representation by the elected officials” of each state. Corporate giveaways and corporate backing of candidates running for office should be abolished. Have you even looked into how much campaign money is given to YOUR congressional representative from corporations/business/special interests to essentially “buy their vote”?

The SEIU Union stands to receive MILLIONS should this pass. Andy Stern has been to the White House so many times, he SHOULD register as a lobbyist, but refuses to do so. Anna Burger, the conduit between the SEIU (Sec.-Treas.), the Democracy Alliance, Change to Win, etc. is also on Obama’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board (therefore ties to White House). Do you find it bothersome there is such a STRONG tie between the SEIU and the Healthcare initiative?

    2. One big PROBLEM with the current Healthcare bill is that there is NO Tort reform. Trial lawyers are on the sidelines salivating at the thought of endless $$$’s heading their way should this pass. Malpractice attorneys are the biggest supporters of Democratic candidates. Doctors, afraid of being sued, pay HIGH malpractice insurance; then pass this on to their practice (patients). So besides health insurance ADD malpractice insurance.

Also, there needs to be the ability to purchase health insurance across state lines. Competition in a free market is healthy and a good cost containment initiative.

    3. Years ago, healthcare was a good thing. Nurses were at the maximum of 1 for every four patients on a medical ward; 1 for every two patients on a critical ward. Besides health insurance companies; the corporations that OWN the hospitals should be taken to task.

The SAME lab test for example is a different price for outpatient vs. inpatient charges. Exhorbitant prices for aspirin as a patient in a hospital. The hospital overcharges because they know the reimbursement rate of the insurance covers the cost + gives them a profit.

It is NOT just insurance companies at fault here. Doctors overcharging, hospitals overcharging, etc. add to the misery of increased healthcare costs.

My own personal physician charges $125.00 for 10 minutes of their “time.” Do the math. 60 minutes in an hour = 6 x $125.00 = $750.00/hour made…. times an 8 hour day = $6,000.00 per day.

Granted there is staff pay, overhead costs and inventory….but $6,000 per day? And this physician is a “Family practitioner”……..

    4. Re Limbaugh and Beck: It is not hatred; it is telling the truth about what is happening within our own government. I suggest you watch Glenn Beck at 5PM weekdays for at least two times. Or at least read “Liberal Facism“, “The 5,000 Year Leap” or “Liberty and Tyranny“…..

Unless you think Maoism/Marxism is the way to go.

  5. “Maoism/Marxism” ?…you’re kidding, right ?….and referring to Beck & Limbaugh for Truth ?…again, you’re kidding, right ?…Also, in your post you admit that corps, ins cos, & docs/hospitals are largely to blame for problems in the delivery of healthcare in the US, and then you refer us to Beck & Limbaugh; but Obama & the Dems are trying to fix healthcare, yet you seem to criticize the healthcare bill, which has been hacked to death by repubs who are defending corps & ins cos, and you recommend us to Beck & Limbaugh, who have attacked Obama/Dem attempts to fix healthcare…do you listen to yourself ?…what on earth are you talking about ?….try to make some sense…As to “Tort reform”, this is a distraction used by the repubs to confuse people, as usual; med mal verdicts are an extremely small part of the healthcare dollar …. Finally, you cricitize the union; at least the union’s specific mission is to represent individual people, rather than to simply make more money for management & shareholders, as is the specific mission of corps & ins cos, and to have repubs do their bidding…You have no idea what you’re talking about, and you have been bamboozled by the repubs, congratulations…or maybe you are one of their deputy bamboozlers, huh ?

    1. YOU have learned your Marxist talking points well.

    2. IF the US goes bankrupt, who will pay for your healthcare?

    3. Would it surprise YOU to find out that I WAS a Democrat for 35+ years (now Independent voter) because of the infiltration of the Democratic Party by people like you?
